Una, part 1: Land and love
Una Arcadia moved to Legacy with an old fashioned, Scarlett O'Hara dream. She wanted to buy a large bit of land in this quiet town, get a job, find a nice guy, and have a lot of kids.
She started out in the mailroom of a small local business. Her surroundings at home were humble, she spent a lot of time daydreaming about the future, and watching the clouds.
On one of her days off, Una met Kennedy at the park. She'd been dating a fairly nice guy named Komei, but there just wasn't a razzledazzle love zing. Things moved quickly, and one day after a game of chess, Una asked him to move in. While a romantic at heart, Una was also very pragmatic. She wanted to see how things worked out.
Kennedy was a serious guy, very private. When he gave her a chunk of cash to do a massive building project on their home, she decided it was best not to ask questions.
Shortly after the construction was completed, Una and Kennedy threw a huge wedding party. In the spirit of goodwill, Una invited Komei. After all, besides Brandi, he was still one of her best friends.
The wedding was amazingly beautiful. Una was radiant in a magenta gown and flowing curls. Kennedy had a wicked cool pompador. The ceremony went off without a hitch.
Things turned ugly when Komei had a little too much champagne. Brandi went overboard with the toasts and got a little tipsy herself. She hardly could believe her eyes when Komei slapped Una before they had cut the cake. His heart had taken more umbrage than anyone had thought.
Despite this, Una and Kennedy had a lovely honeymoon. That night, Una flushed her birth control pills down the toliet. She believed herself destined for the mystical power of motherhood, and she wanted to get started on her brood as soon as possible.
