knitting with flesh!

Okay, that was the gory version of my post title...
I'm planning on teaching the kids finger knitting this week, which will be fun. I have a bunch of acrylic bulky yarn and chopsticks when the older kids are ready to graduate. I am excited about trying it with the littles, though, like K-2, I think they will like it.
Look how thrilled this girl from google image search is about finger knitting, and she didn't even have someone as cool as me to teach her:

On the personal front, I can't reveal much, except that Tempe Yarn and Fiber is having a sock contest and the deadline is 9 days. I want to knit up one of the Bobble Bing! socks I designed last year for sockapalooza and never really wrote the whole pattern for. But I'm really bummed there are no size 2 double points anywhere to be found, no Pony Pearls, no Bryspuns. I need to start ASAP! I hate wooden sock needles, I am just inviting snaptitude. I could get more Bryspuns at the Fiber Factory in Mesa, but I don't think there are any Pony pearls in the state of Arizona.
Drat.
If only I could knit socks on my fingers.

Hey there! How have you been?

Jessica Knits in N. Scottsdale has Pony Pearls but I don't know if she still has size 2's. She has lots of needles though, so maybe you can find something there!

She does look fairly thrilled - I had actually not heard of this technique! How's the search for needles coming along? Still no PPs?

you win for most gross post title :)

I bet the kids will love the technique.
