Knitting Out
The Boston Knit Out and Crochet was this past weekend, and we came, we knit, we picnic-ed!
Actually, I just wove in ends and sewed. Fun!
Crumpets Final Product, on its way to its new owner. I am reasonably happy with it, but I am glad to be totally finished! I like the ribbon I found, it is an iridescent blue grosgrain with hot pink edges, perfect!
The special guest stars of the weekend were my parents, who met much of our knitting group. I gifted my mom with two skeins of Malabrigo merino worsted in a lovely blue shade, a copy of Stitch 'n Bitch, and a some size 9 Clover Bamboos. What else could get her hooked after her bad memories of failed poncho knitting in a class in the 70s?
Here she is, caught off-guard. I've heard tell her scarf now measures 6"!
Our picnic site was rather popular, owing to our magnetic personalities, or the fact we came prepared with blankets and lots of food!
My dearest is truly at one with nature.
From the True Grounds crew: Alasdair, Amanda, Julie, and Michelle's backside. :)
A better shot of Michelle with her bullet, Z.
Ahh, good times! We couldn't have asked for nicer weather. f

Your parents are so cute, and I know your mom will be hooked - Malabrigo has that addictive property! It was good seeing you at the KnitOut!

Your finished crumpets is too cute. Definitely worth all that evil crochet time :)
Your mom is beautiful! Sounds like you had a great visit.
